Director & Producer, New York
“I first met Tsering in a Kathmandu hotel lobby the day before we were about to embark into one of the most remote places on Earth. His breadth of knowledge of every aspect of film-making was truly a gift as a camera operator on my film. As we flew, drove, boated, and trekked through Arunachal Pradesh up into the borderlands of Tibet, Tsering quickly became an indispensible member to our team. He not only operated a camera beautifully but he also translated Nepali, Hindi, and Tibetan for interviews, coordinated our work with porters and other locals, and added the greatest insight into the culture and landscape around us. And most importantly, he had a terrific sense of humor even when times were tough. At the end our trip Tsering was not just a co-worker, but a true friend.
